The high altitude is one of the most difficult tasks that climbers confront on Mount Elbrus. With a peak elevation of 5,642 metres (18,510 feet), altitude sickness is a major problem. Lower oxygen levels at higher elevations might cause symptoms such as headaches. Acclimatisation is critical, since it requires climbers to progressively ascend, letting their bodies to adjust to the thinner air and lowering the danger of altitude-related ailments.
